This book continues to allow for that but also introduce the process of the judicial system as Bosch teams up with a defense lawyer. I very much enjoy all crime mystery because besides the suspense, I enjoy learning the detective process. "In this story Bosch takes on another position working for the "other side". But as Bosch gets closer to discovering the truth, he makes himself a target. With the secret help of his former LAPD partner Lucia Soto, he turns the investigation inside the police department. Though it goes against all his instincts, Bosch takes the case. The murder rap against his client seems ironclad, but Mickey is sure it’s a setup.
